Digital delivery

This page covers what happens between a digital order landing in your dashboard and the buyer opening the file, code or account they bought. It only applies to stores running the Digital theme; the pages below redirect to the dashboard home on any other theme. For how the buyer's money reaches you, see Payments.

What you can store and deliver

Everything you deliver lives on the Secure storage page (/dashboard/digital/storage), under three tabs:

  • File to upload once, 20 MB maximum. Documents, archives and media are accepted (PDF, ZIP, RAR, 7z, Office files, MP4, MP3, images). Executables, scripts and web files are refused.
  • Account made of a login, a password and an optional extra field. Add one at a time, paste a batch, or import a CSV.
  • Code for licence keys, gift cards or recharge codes. Paste one per line, or import a CSV.

One stored unit equals one delivery. When you upload a file you also set a deliverable quantity (1 to 500): quantity 10 means the same file can be sold to 10 buyers, and it takes 10 slots of your storage tier. The items list groups those copies on one row and shows how many are left and how many were sold.

Secure storage tiers

Secure storage is a paid addon billed per month, per store. Until it is active the page shows only the purchase card, and every upload is refused.

TierItems storedPrice
300300500 DZD/month
600600900 DZD/month
1,2001,2001,500 DZD/month
3,0003,0002,200 DZD/month
Unlimitedno cap3,000 DZD/month

Unlimited is the top tier: no limit on how many items you keep in storage. It is not free storage, and it does not change the 20 MB per file limit. The usage bar at the top of the page counts every deliverable unit against your tier and splits the total into files, accounts and codes.

Attaching items to a product or a variant

Pick the product first. If that product has variants, a second dropdown appears and each option shows how many units are still available for it. Leave it on All variants (product level) to store the item for the product as a whole.

When an order is confirmed, DZBuild looks for units attached to the exact variant the buyer chose, then falls back to product-level units. If there are fewer units than the quantity ordered, the shortage is recorded and the order is delivered short, so top storage up and hand the rest over yourself.

Nothing is delivered until you confirm

Every digital order arrives as pending, free products included. There is no automatic hand-over at checkout.

  1. Open the order from Digital orders (/dashboard/digital/orders) and check the payment receipt if the buyer paid through a manual method.
  2. Click Confirm order. This is the moment items are pulled from storage, attached to the order, marked sold, and the payment status flips to paid.
  3. Then either Deliver + send email, which mails the buyer, or Mark as delivered, which only closes the order on your side.

The email button appears only when Secure storage is active and units were actually attached to the order. You can always mark an order delivered without it and send the goods yourself through the contact channels collected at checkout.

Digital orders use three statuses, pending, confirmed and delivered, plus cancelled. A cancelled order can be reopened to pending, and cancelling a confirmed order releases its items back into storage.

What the buyer sees

The digital checkout asks for an email address and it is required, because that is where the delivery mail goes.

The mail lists the order and its codes and account credentials in the body. Files are neither attached nor linked in it: its button opens your store's /track-order page instead.

On that page the buyer types the order number and the last 4 digits of the phone number used on the order. Deliverables show up only once you have confirmed or delivered the order, and then the buyer gets a Download button per file, with the remaining download count and the expiry date next to it, and click-to-copy fields for codes and account credentials.

Each file link works 3 times and stops working 30 days after you confirmed the order. Past either limit the page answers that the link has expired, and the buyer has to come back to you. The remaining count and the expiry date are printed under every file on the tracking page, so tell buyers to save their file rather than keep the link.

Codes and account credentials do not disappear that way: they stay readable on the tracking page.

When a buyer says the download does not work

Check in this order:

  1. The order is still pending. The tracking page hides every deliverable until the order is confirmed. This is the most common one.
  2. The receipt has not been reviewed yet, which is why the order is still pending.
  3. The last 4 digits do not match the phone number on the order. The buyer has to enter the number they ordered with.
  4. Storage was empty for that variant. Nothing was attached when you confirmed, so there is nothing to download. Add items, then hand the missing units over yourself.
  5. Secure storage is not active on your store. Without it, no file, code or account can be attached to an order at all.
  6. The link expired or hit 3 downloads.
  7. No mail arrived. It is only sent when you click Deliver + send email; after that, ask the buyer to check the spam folder.

Selling subscriptions and renewals

There is no recurring product on the storefront today: a buyer is never charged again automatically, and nothing renews on its own. Merchants who sell a monthly service publish each period as its own product, one month, three months and so on, and deliver a fresh code or account for every purchase. Recurring products are planned, with no date.
