Google Review Popup

After a buyer places an order, a small Google-styled card appears on the order confirmation page: your store name, five stars and one button. A tap on the button or the stars opens your Google review page in a new tab, where the buyer writes the review.

What the buyer sees​

  • The card opens a few seconds after the order, at the delay you set.
  • It shows your store name, the question "How was your experience with us?", five stars, a Rate us on Google button and a Later button.
  • The stars on the card do not send a rating. The buyer picks the stars on Google itself.
  • The card speaks the storefront language: Arabic or French, and English on stores set to another language.
  • It opens once per order. If the buyer reloads the confirmation page, it does not come back.
  1. Open your Google Business Profile, in the Google Maps app or on business.google.com.
  2. Tap Get more reviews and copy the link Google gives you. It looks like https://g.page/r/XXXX/review.
  3. Keep the link ready for the settings below.

These links are accepted:

  • The Get more reviews link: https://g.page/r/.../review.
  • A review link with a place ID: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=....
  • Your shop's normal Google Maps link (https://www.google.com/maps/place/...). DZBuild turns it into a link that opens the review box directly.
  • A maps.app.goo.gl short link from the Maps Share button. DZBuild expands it when you save. If it cannot be expanded, the button opens your shop on Google Maps instead of the review box.

Only Google links are accepted. Any other address is refused with a message when you save.

Turn it on​

  1. Open Dashboard → Add-ons at /dashboard/addons.
  2. Find Google Review Popup under Marketing and click Activate (Pro plan).
  3. The settings window opens by itself. Paste your Google review link. The help text under the field repeats where to find it.
  4. Choose the delay, then click Save settings.

Until a link is saved, nothing is added to your pages.

Where it appears​

  • The order confirmation page, after orders from the product page, the cart and the Digital theme.
  • Landing pages, right after the thank-you message (from version 1.1.0). The delay starts when the order is confirmed.

It does not appear on the page a buyer returns to after paying by card. If the cross-sell popup is open, the card waits until the buyer closes it.

Good to know​

  • The order confirmation page always shows your current link. Landing pages are cached, so a changed link can take up to two minutes to reach them.
  • The buyer has not received the parcel yet. The card asks about the ordering experience, so keep your Google profile up to date for the review page to open correctly.
  • To stop the card, deactivate the add-on on the same card. Your saved link stays in place if you turn it back on.
