Video tutorial
Features
- Per-product delivery label customization
- Toggle variant display on/off
- Toggle quantity display on/off
- Custom name and custom text per product
- Live preview before save
Why use it
Couriers print whatever you put in the product name field on the shipping label. By default DZBuild composes each line as {Qty}x {Product Name} ({Option} + {Option}) — quantity first, no dash, options in parentheses joined by +, and per-piece groups separated by |. For example: 2x T-shirt (Red + L). That works most of the time, but:
- For some products you want the variant hidden (e.g. internal SKU codes) — couriers and customers don't need to see them.
- For others you want the quantity hidden (so the courier doesn't open the package).
- For sensitive items you want a generic label like "Parfum" instead of the actual product name.
This add-on lets you override the label per product without touching the actual product name.
How to activate
- Open Dashboard → Add-ons at
/dashboard/addons. - Find Custom Delivery Label under Delivery.
- Click Activate (Pro plan required). The add-on cannot be activated on the Digital theme; if you switch to Digital, the card is shown as paused and your label templates are preserved.
- No sidebar entry is added — open the page from the Settings button on the add-on card, which links to
/dashboard/addons/delivery-label.
Configuring labels
Open /dashboard/addons/delivery-label. It lists every active product sorted by name — there is no search box, and hidden or draft products are not listed. Scroll to the product and open its label editor:
- Toggle Show variant on/off.
- Toggle Show quantity on/off.
- Optionally enter a Custom name — this replaces the product name on the label. Use it for a generic "Parfum".
- Optionally enter Custom text — an extra string placed around the name, with a position selector for after (default) or before.
- The Live preview panel updates as you type — shows what will print on the next courier label for this product.
- Save.
Both text fields are stripped of HTML and capped at 255 characters. To revert a product to the default label, use the trash button on its card.
The change applies to all future shipments. Already-printed labels are not retroactively edited.
What happens to products without a template
The add-on is per-product and fails safe:
- A product with no template keeps the default line, even inside an order that also contains customised products.
- If nothing in the order has a template, the platform default applies to the whole order.
- If anything goes wrong while building the custom list, the platform silently falls back to the default.
Each courier caps the product field — 100 to 255 characters depending on the courier. Long custom names or custom text on a multi-item order can push past that cap. When it does, the platform first drops the variant details from every line, then trims to the first few items with a +N suffix, and only as a last resort replaces the whole list with a compact xQTY ORD-… summary.
Tips
- Use Custom name and Custom text sparingly — couriers cross-reference with the order, so a fully fake label can confuse them.
- For products where customers should see the variant (e.g. "T-shirt — Red, Size L"), leave variant ON.
- For multi-piece offers, hide quantity to avoid couriers opening the box. The actual quantity is still in the order details.
- Pairs well with Custom Product Shipping when you want both the price and the label decoupled from the storefront.
