Install and manage apps on your store
Section: Developer apps · Min plan: set by each app · Installed by: the store owner
An app is a service made by an outside developer that works on your store through the DZBuild API. You install it from the app's own website: DZBuild shows you a consent screen that lists what the app will be able to do, and the app gets no access until you approve. Each installed app then has a page in your dashboard where you see what it changed, undo a change and remove the app.
Where apps appear
Open Dashboard → Add-ons at /dashboard/addons. Apps have their own section, Developer apps, below the installable add-ons of the Add-ons catalog. The section appears once DZBuild lists an app for every store or an app is installed on your store. An app you installed stays in that section even if DZBuild suspends it or stops listing it, so you can always remove it.
Each card shows the app's name, its description and Developed by with the developer's name, plus one of these states:
| What the card shows | What it means |
|---|---|
| Available and an Install button | You can install the app. Install opens the app's website in a new tab, where the install starts. |
| A plan name such as PRO and an Upgrade to Pro button | The app needs that plan. If it is already installed, it stops working on this store until you upgrade, and Manage stays on the card so you can still remove it. |
| Open and Manage | The app is installed on this store. Open, when the app offers it, opens the app in a new tab and tells it which store you are working on. Manage opens the app's page in your dashboard. |
| Suspended | DZBuild has suspended the app and it no longer has access to your store. Manage lets you remove it. |
How to install an app
- Click Install on the app's card, or go to the app's website directly, and start the install there. If you are not signed in to DZBuild, sign in first; the consent screen opens next.
- Check the top of the screen: the app's name, Developed by with the developer's name, the app's website and its support email. An app DZBuild has reviewed carries the Verified by DZBuild badge.
- Under Choose the stores it will have access to, tick one or more of your stores. The first store you can use is already ticked. One install covers up to 10 stores.
- Read What this app will be able to do. The app gets these permissions and nothing more.
- Click Approve and install. DZBuild sends you back to the app's website, which finishes the install. The app then shows in Developer apps on each store you ticked.
Click Deny instead and you return to the app's website without giving it any access. The screen ends with a reminder that you can remove the app at any time from the Add-ons page.
A store whose plan is below the app's minimum plan is greyed out with an Unavailable tag and the plan the app needs. When none of your stores qualifies, the screen says the app cannot be installed on your stores for now. If DZBuild has not approved the app or has suspended it, you see "This app is not available." instead of the consent screen.
Only the store owner can install an app. A team member account sees Store owners only and is asked to have the owner install the app from their own account.
What an app can be allowed to do
The consent screen and the app's page show one line per area the app asked for. When the app asked to change an area, you see the line for changing it. These are the only permissions an app can ask for:
| Area | Line for read access | Line for change access |
|---|---|---|
| Store | See your store information and settings | See and change your store settings, design and theme |
| Products | See your products | See, create, change and delete products |
| Orders | See your orders, read only | Create and change orders |
| Delivery | Not available to apps | Hand your orders to your delivery company |
| Customers | See your customers and their details (name, phone, address) | Not available to apps |
| Landing pages | See your landing pages | See, create, change and publish landing pages |
| Promo codes | See your promo codes | See, create and change promo codes (this changes the prices your customers pay) |
| Pixels | See your ad tracking pixels | See, add and change your ad tracking pixels |
| Shipping | See your shipping rates and settings | See and change your shipping rates, and connect or disconnect your delivery companies |
| Statistics | See your store statistics | Not available to apps |
| See the WhatsApp message templates, your balance and the history of sent messages | Send WhatsApp messages to your buyers about their orders (each message is charged to your WhatsApp balance) |
Three of these areas need a second look before you approve:
- Delivery. The app can hand orders to your courier without DZBuild asking you to confirm each one, and a send has no Undo. The Claude connector, by contrast, waits for your approval on every send.
- Promo codes. A code the app creates or changes applies to what your buyers pay at checkout.
- WhatsApp. Each message is paid from your WhatsApp Sender balance, like an automatic message.
Some access is never available to an app. No permission covers AI generation, so an app cannot spend your AI credits. No permission covers your plan and payments, your team, your domains or your API keys either. An app also cannot undo changes: Undo stays with you, on the app's page.
The app's page
Click Manage on the app's card to open its page. It shows:
- Installed on, Last activity (the last time the app used its access, or Never used) and Installed by, the account that approved the install.
- What this app will be able to do: the permissions the app holds, in the same words as the consent screen.
- Its latest changes: the 20 most recent changes the app made to your store, with Undo next to each change that can be rolled back.
- Notifications sent to the app: whether your store sends the app notifications, and how the last one went.
- Remove the app.
- Links to the app's website and support email, and Open when the app offers it.
An app that can see your orders may ask to be told when an order arrives or changes status. The notifications card then shows Address verified or Address not yet verified, Sending paused when sending has stopped, the number of failures in a row, and the last notification with its status: Sending, Delivered or Delivery failed. An app that takes no notifications gets a line saying so.
Team members with the Add-ons permission (see Team & permissions) can open this page and the app itself. They see no Undo button, and the Remove the app card tells them This action is reserved for the store owner.
Undo a change the app made
The list covers changes to your store settings, design, theme and home page, categories, stock, promo codes, pixels, shipping rates and settings, and landing page sections. Other edits, such as a product's name or price or an order's status, are not listed and cannot be undone from this page.
Click Undo next to a change and confirm. DZBuild puts back the value from before that change, and the button turns into an Undone tag. A change that created something new, such as a promo code or a category, has no Undo button: delete that item from its own page if you do not want it. If the item a change touched no longer exists, DZBuild refuses the undo and tells you why.
Remove an app
- Open the app's page with Manage.
- Click Remove the app and confirm.
The app loses access to the store at once, and the notifications still waiting to be sent to it are cancelled. You land on the Add-ons page with the message that the app was removed. Your products, orders and settings stay as they are, including what the app changed. Undo those changes before you remove the app, because its page and its list of changes go away with the install.
Removing acts on the store you are working on. If the app is installed on several of your stores, switch to each one to remove it there (see Multi-store). You can install the app again later from its website; the consent screen opens again.
What it costs
DZBuild adds no fee for installing an app. Apps work on every plan, Free included, unless the app sets a minimum plan. That plan shows on the app's card, and on the consent screen next to each store whose plan is too low; those stores cannot be ticked. If a store's plan later drops below the app's minimum, the app stops working on that store until you upgrade (see Upgrades & downgrades).
WhatsApp messages an app sends come out of your WhatsApp balance, as described above.

FAQ
Can a team member install an app? No. Only the store owner can approve an install. A team member who opens the consent screen sees Store owners only and is asked to have the owner install the app from their own account.
Why does the install page say "This app is not available"? DZBuild has not approved the app yet, or has suspended it. Until DZBuild approves it, an app works only on its developer's own stores. Contact the app's developer to find out when it will be available.
I approved the install, but the app does not show in Developer apps. What now? Approving sends you back to the app's website, which finishes the install on its side. Start the install again from the app's website. A consent screen left open for more than 10 minutes answers that the install link is invalid or expired, and starting again from the app's website fixes that. If the app is still missing, write to the support email shown on the consent screen.
Can I give an app access to only some of my stores? Yes. Tick only those stores on the consent screen, up to 10 per install. Each store keeps its own install, so you can remove the app from one store and keep it on another.
