Advanced Analytics for Your Store

Category: Marketing ย ยทย  Min plan: Enterprise ย ยทย  Slug: advanced-analytics

Advanced Analytics gives your store real-time visitor analytics โ€” how many people are on your site right now, where they came from, which pages they read, which devices and countries they use โ€” next to your own revenue and conversion numbers. It is built for Enterprise merchants who have outgrown the built-in dashboard charts and want to know why orders go up or down, not just that they did.

Visitor data is collected by a private analytics instance hosted by DZBuild, not by Google or Facebook, and the storefront script sets no cookies.

Video tutorialโ€‹

Featuresโ€‹

  • Real-time visitor count
  • Daily / weekly / monthly traffic
  • Top pages and referrers
  • Device, browser, OS breakdown
  • Country and region breakdown
  • Self-hosted (no Google / Facebook)
  • Bandwidth-light (1.5 KB script)
  • GDPR-friendly (no cookies)

What it doesโ€‹

Activating the add-on adds an Advanced Analytics entry to your dashboard sidebar and a dedicated page at /dashboard/addons/advanced-analytics.

Once you switch analytics on for your store, a very small tracking script is added to your storefront pages. Every visit is counted there โ€” with no cookie and no customer data sent to a third party. Within minutes of the first real visits, the page starts filling with data.

The page has two families of numbers side by side:

  1. Visitor numbers โ€” Visitors, Pageviews, Sessions and Bounce rate, plus a live visitor pill in the header.
  2. Money numbers โ€” Revenue (delivered), Revenue (pending), Average order value and Conversion rate, read from your own orders, in DZD.

Below the cards you get a traffic chart, a revenue and orders chart on the same time buckets, a Top products table, and four breakdown panels โ€” Top pages, Traffic sources, Countries and Devices.

How the revenue numbers are countedโ€‹

  • Revenue (delivered) โ€” the total of orders whose status is delivered. This is recognized revenue.
  • Revenue (pending) โ€” orders that are confirmed, processing or shipped โ€” money still in flight.
  • Average order value โ€” delivered revenue divided by the number of delivered orders.
  • Conversion rate โ€” orders in the period divided by visitors in the period.
  • Top products โ€” ranked by revenue from delivered orders only, with units and order count.
warning

The conversion rate needs visitor data to be meaningful. If your store had orders before analytics was switched on, the visitor count for that period is lower than the order count, so the card shows a collecting data state instead of a misleading percentage. Give it a full period after activation before reading it.

Benefitsโ€‹

  • See the traffic, not just the orders. The built-in dashboard tells you how many orders you got. This tells you how many people had to see the store to produce them โ€” the number you need before spending more on ads.
  • Know which page sells. Top pages tells you whether your product pages, your landing pages or your home page are doing the work.
  • Know where buyers come from. Traffic sources separate Facebook, TikTok, Google and direct visits, so you can stop paying for a channel that sends visitors who never order.
  • Match the store to the customer's phone. The device and browser breakdown shows what your Algerian buyers actually use, which tells you what to test your checkout on.
  • See traffic and revenue on the same timeline. A traffic spike with no revenue spike is a page problem, not a marketing problem โ€” the two charts sit one above the other so the gap is obvious.
  • Watch a campaign live. The real-time visitor count updates while the ad is running, so you know within minutes whether a launch is landing.
  • Privacy-friendly by design. No cookies, nothing handed to Google or Facebook, and a script light enough that it does not slow your storefront down.

How to activateโ€‹

  1. Open Dashboard โ†’ Add-ons at /dashboard/addons.
  2. Find Advanced Analytics under Marketing.
  3. Click Activate. The add-on requires the Enterprise plan โ€” on a lower plan the card stays locked and activation is refused.
  4. An Advanced Analytics entry appears in the dashboard sidebar.
  5. Open the page and click Activate now on the Activate analytics banner. This is a one-time step per store โ€” it switches tracking on for your storefront.
tip

The add-on is still in limited release. If the page tells you the feature is in beta and asks you to contact support, activation on your store has to be enabled by DZBuild first โ€” message support and mention your store.

Using itโ€‹

  • Range chips at the top switch the whole page between Last 24 hours (the default), Last 7 days, Last 30 days and Last 90 days. Every card, chart and list re-reads on the new range.
  • Live pill in the header shows how many visitors are on your store right now. It refreshes about every 15 seconds and pauses while the browser tab is in the background.
  • Traffic chart is grouped by hour on the 24-hour range, by day on 7 and 30 days, and by month on 90 days. The revenue chart uses the same buckets, so the two line up.
  • Top products lists product, units, orders and revenue for delivered orders in the period.
  • Top pages / Traffic sources / Countries / Devices are ranked lists for the same period.
  • Open full reports opens the complete read-only reporting view in a new tab โ€” sessions, funnels, real-time, UTM sources, performance, period comparison and breakdowns. It is view-only, so nothing there can change your data.
  • If the analytics service is briefly unreachable, the page shows a notice and keeps rendering from the last cached values instead of failing โ€” your dashboard and your storefront are never blocked by it.

Deactivating the add-on stops the page and the sidebar link but does not delete your history: re-activating it later reconnects to the same data.

FAQโ€‹

Which plan do I need?โ€‹

Enterprise. The add-on card is locked on Free, Pro and Unlimited, and activation is refused server-side on those plans. See the Enterprise plan for what else is included.

Is this the same as the analytics on my dashboard home page?โ€‹

No. The dashboard home page shows your orders, revenue, profit and product performance โ€” see Analytics. This add-on adds the visitor side: who reached the store, from where, on what device, and how many of them turned into orders.

Do I still need the Facebook Pixel?โ€‹

Yes. The Pixel and the Conversions API exist to optimize and attribute ad delivery inside Meta โ€” see Pixels. Advanced Analytics is your own reporting, independent of any ad platform. They answer different questions and are normally used together.

Why is my conversion rate empty or "collecting data"?โ€‹

Because visitors are only counted from the moment you clicked Activate now, while orders go back further. Until the visitor count for the selected period is at least as large as the order count, the card refuses to show a percentage rather than show a wrong one. Wait a full period and check again.

Does it slow my store down?โ€‹

The storefront script is about 1.5 KB and loads deferred, so it does not block your pages. Nothing about the analytics page runs on your storefront checkout.
