Offer Variant Popup
Category: Marketing · Type: Free first-party
Show an upsell popup when the customer clicks "Add to cart" — offer a better variant, a bundle, or an add-on at a reduced price.
Why install
Right after "Add to cart", the customer is in buying mode — most receptive to upgrades. A well-timed popup with a better variant ("Same shirt in premium fabric — only +500 DA") converts ~10–20% to the upgrade.
Features
- Trigger: on add-to-cart
- Show: any product or variant of your choice
- Custom headline, image, CTA copy
- Optional discount only for popup acceptance
- "Skip" / "Add" buttons
- Pixel events (Lead, AddToCart with adjusted value)
How to use
- Install + activate from Dashboard → Add-ons → Offer Variant Popup.
- Open a product → scroll to Upsell popup → enable.
- Pick the upsell product/variant + adjusted price.
- Set headline (e.g. "Upgrade to premium for +500 DA?").
- Save.
When customers add this product to cart → popup appears with the upsell.
Example messaging
- "Want it in leather instead? +800 DA"
- "Add a screen protector for 50% off"
- "Buy 2 → 3rd is free"
Best practices
- Offer one upsell, not 3. Decision fatigue kills conversion.
- Frame it as a deal ("only +500 DA"), not just "extra purchase."
- Keep the popup dismissable — never trap the customer.
- A/B test with Landing pages Pro feature.
Frequently asked
Q: Does the popup show on the storefront and on landing pages? A: Yes, both. Anywhere the product's "Add to cart" fires.
Q: Will customers find this annoying? A: Only if you abuse it. One contextual upsell at AddToCart is industry standard. Avoid showing the same popup on every page.
