Order notifications

DZBuild alerts you on two events, a new order and an order status update. Where those alerts land is set at /dashboard/notifications, a page made of one card per channel: browser and app push, email, Telegram, and Discord. On a narrow screen, the row of icons at the top jumps to a card.

The page holds settings only. There is no notification inbox and no history. A new order does pop as a live toast without a refresh, but only on two pages, the orders list and the Advanced Orders page, as the Dashboard tour explains.

Only the store owner can press Save settings. A team member who has permission to edit settings sees a lock note instead of the save button, but can still connect their own Telegram or Discord account and switch their own rows on or off.

Email and app notifications

The recipient is your account email, shown at the top of the card. It is not the public store email, so to change where the mails go, change your account email at /dashboard/account.

Inside the card there is one master switch, Enable email and app notifications, and two switches under it, New order and Order status update.

The master switch also controls push

Browser push and app push are sent only when the email master switch is on and the matching event switch is on. Turn off Enable email and app notifications and your phone and browser go quiet too, even though the push card still shows the device as connected. The same applies per event: with New order off, no new-order push is sent either.

Browser and app push

One switch, at the top of the page. Flipping it on is what asks the browser for permission, so nothing is requested until you act. Flipping it off unsubscribes that one browser.

Each browser or device you enable it in counts separately, and the Connected devices chip on the card shows how many are currently subscribed. Enabling push on your laptop does not enable it on your phone.

Inside the DZBuild Android app the switch row is labelled App notifications, and once you have granted permission the switch locks in the on position. Android only lets the app itself ask once, so turning it back off is done in the phone settings, under Apps, DZ Build, Notifications.

If the browser has already blocked notifications for the site, the card says so and the switch is disabled. Click the padlock next to the address bar, allow notifications, then reload the page.

Telegram

This is the channel most Algerian merchants end up using, because it rings on the phone with no app install.

  1. In the Telegram card, click Connect Telegram. A one-time code appears and stays valid for 15 minutes.
  2. Open the bot with the Open @dzbuildbot button, or search @dzbuildbot in Telegram yourself, and send it the code.
  3. The page is polling while you do this. It confirms the link and reloads on its own; there is nothing to press.

If the code runs out, Generate a new code issues another one.

The Enable Telegram notifications switch stays greyed out until at least one account is linked. Each linked account then has its own two switches, Orders and Statuses, which save the moment you click them, without the Save button. A freshly linked account starts with orders on and status updates off.

How many accounts you can link depends on the plan, and the chip on the card shows the count against the limit:

PlanLinked Telegram accounts
Free1
Pro2
Unlimited4
EnterpriseOne per staff seat plus the owner, at least 26

When the seats are full the card says so instead of offering the connect button. Unlink an account with the small x on its row.

Check whose account is linked

A linked Telegram account receives the customer's name, phone number and address with every order. The owner sees a reminder on the card for exactly this reason. If a row is an account you do not recognise, unlink it now.

A team member's linked account keeps receiving alerts only while that member is still active on the team and still holds permission to edit settings. Remove the member or take the permission away and their Telegram goes silent by itself, with no extra step in this page.

Discord

Two slots per store: one server channel and one direct message. You can use either, or both.

Click Link Discord and the card gives you a code plus the command to send. To bind a channel, add the bot to your server with the Add the bot to the server button, open the channel you want the alerts in, and send /dzbuild link code: followed by your code. To bind your DMs instead, skip the invite and send the same command in a private conversation with the bot. One code works for both slots.

Each bound slot gets the same pair of instant-saving Orders and Statuses switches as a Telegram row, and the same x to unbind it.

Notifications on your phone

Three ways, and DZBuild sends no SMS at all:

  • Telegram, once an account is linked. Nothing to install if you already use Telegram.
  • The Android app, from Google Play. The download button appears in the dashboard top bar when you browse from an Android phone, and it is hidden everywhere else.
  • The dashboard installed to the home screen. On iPhone and iPad this is the only route to push: Safari does not deliver web push to an ordinary tab, so open the dashboard in Safari, use Share then Add to Home Screen, open the installed icon, and enable push there. The card shows this hint when it detects an iOS device.

When an alert never arrives

Work down this list before opening a ticket:

  • The master switch. Email off means push off. This is the single most common cause.
  • The channel switch. Telegram has both a card-level switch and a per-account Orders switch, and both have to be on.
  • The phone put the app to sleep. Android battery optimisation delays or drops background notifications. Open the phone settings, Apps, DZ Build, Battery, and set it to unrestricted.
  • A device you never re-enabled. Clearing browser data, or reinstalling the app, drops the subscription. Reopen the page on that device and flip push on again.
  • The wrong store. Settings are per store. If you run several, switch into the store you expect the orders in and check its own page.
  • The email landed in spam. Search your inbox for dzbuild before concluding nothing was sent.

If alerts still fail after all of that, open a ticket from the support chat and say which channel, which store, and when the last order arrived.
