# Connect ChatGPT to Your Store

**Category:** Tools  ·  **Min plan:** Enterprise  ·  **Slug:** `chatgpt`

The **ChatGPT** add-on connects ChatGPT or Codex (by OpenAI) directly to your DZBuild store. Once connected, you chat to create products, generate full AI landing pages, look up orders and read your store analytics, without clicking through the dashboard.

It works as an app inside ChatGPT with **Developer mode** switched on, and as an **MCP server** in Codex.

## Requirements

* A paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu. Developer mode is switched on from the ChatGPT web app; the mobile apps cannot turn it on.
* On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, an administrator may have to allow developer-mode apps first.
* Your DZBuild store on the **Enterprise** plan, with the ChatGPT add-on activated.

## Features

* Create and update **products** by chatting
* **Add product photos from a link** and manage variants (colours, sizes, stock per option or per combination)
* Generate **complete AI landing pages** for a product and publish them
* Add, move, hide and delete the **sections of your home page**, such as a row with one category's products
* Ask about **revenue, top products, visitors and conversion** in plain language
* Look up **orders**; create, edit or cancel one, or hand it to your delivery company, each after you confirm in ChatGPT
* Works in **ChatGPT (Developer mode) and in Codex**
* **Your API key stays hidden**: created on our servers, never shown, revoked in one click
* You approve exactly which of your stores ChatGPT may access

## What it can and cannot do

| ChatGPT can | ChatGPT cannot |
| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| Read your store profile and analytics | Change your plan, billing or payment settings |
| Create, update and delete products, photos and variants | Upload a file from your computer (send a link instead) |
| Create landing pages, generate AI pages, edit a page's sections and check it before publishing | See customer data beyond what an order holds |
| Read orders, and create, edit, cancel or ship one after you confirm | Manage staff, API keys or domains |
| Change the store design and theme, store details, home page sections, shipping prices, couriers, pixels and promo codes | |
| Manage categories, stock, quantity offers, buyer input fields and min/max quantity rules | |
| List the settings changes it made and undo one | |

**Every change waits for your confirmation.** ChatGPT shows each action that writes to your store (creating a product, cancelling an order, sending a parcel to the courier) and asks you to confirm before it runs. Without Developer mode, ChatGPT can only search and read your store data.

## How to connect

1. In your DZBuild dashboard, open **Add-ons → ChatGPT** and activate the add-on.
2. Copy the connector link shown on the page: `https://mcp.dzbuild.com/mcp`
3. In ChatGPT (web), open **Settings → Security and login** and turn on **Developer mode**.
4. Open **ChatGPT Plugins**, press the plus button and paste the link.
5. ChatGPT opens a DZBuild page. Sign in, tick the store or stores ChatGPT may use and press **Approve and connect**. A store shows as **Unavailable** until it is on the Enterprise plan with the ChatGPT add-on active.

In Codex, add the same link as an MCP server. The sign-in and approval steps are the same.

You can revoke the connection at any time from the **Add-ons → ChatGPT** page. Connecting again from ChatGPT replaces the previous ChatGPT connection for that store.

## Things to try

* "Create a new product called Natural Honey priced at 4500 DA."
* "Add this photo to the honey product: <https://example.com/honey.jpg>"
* "Add sizes S, M and L to the t-shirt, with 10 in stock for each."
* "Generate a landing page for the honey product."
* "Add a section to my home page with the products of the Honey category."
* "How many orders did I get this week, and what is my best-selling product?"
* "Find the orders from 0555 12 34 56 and send the pending one to the courier."

Photos come from a link: ChatGPT cannot upload a file from your computer, so give it a public image URL and DZBuild downloads and hosts the image. Private links and links that need a login are refused.

## AI landing pages use your credits

When you ask ChatGPT to generate a landing page, it uses your store's **AI credits** (the same credits as the dashboard AI generator: 20 for a medium page, 45 for a tall one). ChatGPT tells you before it spends them. You can top up credits from the **AI Credits** page in your dashboard.

## Security

* The connection uses a standard secure sign-in (OAuth). You approve it once, from your own logged-in account.
* The key that lets ChatGPT talk to your store is created on our servers and **never displayed**, not even to you. On the add-on page you only ever see it masked.
* **Only the store owner** can connect a store. Team members cannot.
* Press **Disconnect** on the add-on page and ChatGPT loses access within about a minute.
* Deactivating the add-on disconnects ChatGPT and Codex. A Claude connection on the same store is not affected.

## Availability

The ChatGPT add-on is available on the **Enterprise** plan. If your store leaves the Enterprise plan or the plan expires, ChatGPT and Codex can no longer reach your store until it is back on an active Enterprise plan.
